Welcome back to weekend coffee chats, where we discuss different topics from life as a young professional in corporate all the way to businesses, social media, books, and coffee. We ask questions and dive to learn, so grab your favorite beverage and join us. This week let’s talk about Tiktok
Regardless of personal opinions, or how cringe we may think it is, I think we’re beyond the point to admit its value and how it’s changing learning and many industries at the same time. Tiktok does have some issues and needs enhancements for sure, but let’s start with the positives.
So if you’d like to learn more info for example about a job or industry you can search for:
- day in the life videos
- “asking me about my job” videos that have information about professions
There’s a lot of specific accounts about engineering, biology, medicine, and much more that put the info in clever and fun videos. You can either directly learn from them or guide youngsters still in school to use them to better understand subjects.
If you’re a creator though you can also benefit from showing your daily life, process, work, or communicating with your fanbase. Below are some examples which you can search for and get inspired by
- founders sharing more info about their companies, tips, advice, Q&A, exc. (ex: twitch founder)
- writers answering questions, doing challenges (ex: red queen writer)
- musicians making cover songs or remixing songs and playing them in their own way
You also have the usuals which everyone starts using the app for
- funny videos
- dances
Like this post, if you’d like a second part with specific tips for Tiktok new creators. Let me know in the comments what did I miss that you’d like to add to this list, or what do you not like about the app, as I love to hear from you all!
