In a world where everyone aspires to be number one, what about the rest ?
The importance of employees number 2 to 200 or even 2000. How reliable workers, employees, and people are the glue of our societies.
Innovation is important, but if there’s no one to execute on that innovation it’s pointless. You may be thinking well probably the innovator is the one executing and hence my point is void. In that case I agree with you. However consider the ideas and innovations of our current times that need a lot of effort and team work, think of the first 20 employees of a startup for example. The skills and reliability of these people are 90% of the output assumably. Look I’m not saying that innovators are not important, they are, what I’m saying is we need to stop underestimating normal employees and workers as just people following a bigger vision and guidelines of an innovator. It takes skills, experience, and commitment to get things done, and for that each employee is applaudable and has my utmost respect. I think in a world where either genius CEOs or influencers are the new North Star, we have to remember and honor the people behind them. The people going home late to their kids to stick to a deadline, the people going to work even though they’re not feeling so well that day; the people working for hours on end to ship ideas, products, and services to their customers, to us.
Till next time 🙂 !
